Today i’m excited to announce that today’s guest is the incredibly talented photographer Todd Glaser. The chances are if you have picked up a surf magazine in the last decade and had a look through it you have seen some of Todd’s work before. Todd has without a doubt photographed some of the most iconic surfing images ever. He has shot more than a dozen front covers for SURFER magazine since he was added to the staff in 2008, published books, worked on a number of projects with Taylor Steel including “Proximity”, photographed iconic surf sessions including the first session ever at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch, Code Red and so many more, he has had his work featured in huge number of editorial publications including The New York Times, Outside, Men’s Health and GQ, and has has the opportunity to work with clients like Outerknown, Google, HBO, Incase and just about every surf brand.
On this episode Todd and I talk about how he approaches his portrait photography, the importance of treating people around you kindly, the impact that people like Kelly Slater has had on his life, photo licencing, oversaturation of particular images, what it was like to photograph the first ever session at Kelly’s Wave Pool, crazy travel journeys he has had in the past and so so much more. We cover a wide range of things in this episode so I’m sure all of you will find something to take away from it.
